Canyoning and river bob

Canyoning is discovering a millennium of nature’s workings, swimming in crystal clear pools and sliding down natural slides and river waterfalls. In other words, canyoning is sure to impress you. Through the centuries rivers and streams have hollowed out narrow canyons, which are famous for their natural beauty. These canyons can hide untouched pools of water and incredible waterfalls.

 Canyoning in Grmečica is known for being a quite adventurous experience and is therefore recommended to participants with prior experience. The rope technique is used for conquering high waterfalls and the bravest can jump over an 8 m high waterfall and have a swim in a breath taking natural pool. Canyoning in the Jerečica canyon includes a lot of natural slides and downward slopping. In certain areas, rope for climbing down waterfalls must be used. This canyon is suitable for visiting on rainy days as well, because the water flow is not high.

When canyoning you are accompanied by experienced guides, who also supply you with appropriate equipment.

  Hydrospeed – river bob
Some put hydrospeed at the very top of adrenaline-filled water activities you can experience on rivers such as Sava Bohinjka. While descending down the river, the only thing between you and the river is a small river bob. You keep your direction and overcome rapids with flippers on your feet. This way, you experience the river in the boldest possible fashion.

The descent starts in the canyon under the dam, halfway between Bohinj and Bled, and ends under Bohinjska Bela. The length of the section is 5 km, whilst the difficulty level of the river is 2-4. Overcoming the rapids usually takes around an hour and a half, but the complete descent usually takes between four and five hours.
