Horseback riding has a more than century long tradition in Slovenia, thanks to the Lipica stud farm, the cradle of the world famous Lipizzaner horses.

There are organised short some-hour-long and long day-long horse-riding tours, which lead to natural sights such as the Devil’s bridge (Hudičev most), the Savica waterfall, the Pokljuka mountain and many other places.

You can find horses and ponies on many tourist farms. In Studor you can find Lipizzaners, the famous white horses from the Lipica stud farm, as well as smaller islandic types of horses. The former are wonderful for introducing children to horseback riding.

You can also hire a guide for attractive field trips in the untouched nature of The Triglav National Park, or take a ride with a carriage or farmers cart, to get an even more special experience.
